Garlic breadsticks

These cheat’s breadsticks are ludicrously easy to make and are the perfect accompaniment to any soup, salad, dip or pâté.

Ingredients

  • 1 heat-and-serve ciabatta loaf
  • 4 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 6 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 230°C/fan210°C/gas 8. Cut the bread in half widthways, then cut into 6 pieces lengthways to make long, thin sticks. Put onto a baking sheet.
  2. Mix together the garlic and oil, drizzle over the bread and sprinkle with sea salt. Bake for 7 minutes until golden. Serve warm or cold with artichoke pesto.
